Made it to Week 5...

Ah, Core Cardio and Balance week...also known as "Recovery Week." The word "recovery" however, I feel doesn't exist in Shaun T's vocabulary or at least he isn't aware of the definition. I remember enjoying this week...

I kept up with the warm up (barely) and had to fall out a few times during the core part of the exercise to catch a breather but I got through it. To think I need to do this five more times this week. Holy hell.

I guess this was about the time during my first run through where people (not just myself) began to pick up on the changes occurring. My confidence sky rocketed as did my belief that I could do way more than I used to be able to and that my fitness had exceeded an all time high. I feel it now but perhaps knowing that the bigger mountain to climb (the second half of Insanity) looms near and that is basically Shaun T slapping you down.

A friend in my unit, whom I got to do Insanity is in Week 6 and he is explaining and describing all the wonderful differences and breakthroughs that I was talking about in person, thinking to myself or perhaps even on this blog and its great to see someone else with that same confidence. We joked about some of our "favorite" workouts and what not. I've got two other friends in my unit that want to do Insanity, mayhaps I am a trendsetter. :)

As far as Advocare goes, loving the Spark and Slam combo. Cannot mention that enough. I tried to order an Herbal Cleanse but they are still out of stock (shows their popularity) and I still have a brand new Catalyst bottle starting down at me on the fridge. Really need to get into that.

Damn pills.

Dammit?

I ask because even though I failed to keep an updated journal, I didn't fail to keep working out.

My trip to Germany threw a brief wrench in the gears of my newly re-initated Insanity program but I still worked out when I could.

I got home and after about a week, hit Insanity up again, from the beginning and am now in Week 5 "Recover Week."

Yeah right.

During that time I got introduced to Cross Fit via six personal sessions and man that is something else. I think I finally understand what Captain L. was saying when he mentioned that bodies start to break down after a time and I will do everything I can to prevent that. I may be 27 but I feel like I should have when I was 19. I've got too much life left and potential to start complaining about aches and pains now or at least let them hinder me.

Advocare's been there every step of the way, from Muscle Recovery to Muscle Gain (which I really enjoy) and of course, Spark and Slam. Especially for Dodgeball. Things come so slowly now I have too much time to think but when I blend that with "feeling" and not thinking, I'm unstoppable. I love it.

Definitely want to try some new Advocare products but doing that and keeping the stuff I use almost on a daily basis in stock is quite the financial feat unfortunately.

My roommate and I have also adopted the Paleo-Diet which after some research basically means, nothing but lean meats, fruits and veggies, shit our bodies were programmed to eat for centuries and I cannot really argue with the science. No grains and dairy...that part not so much, that will be difficult to come off of but the diet isn't a diet in the sense of "oh I am on the atkins diet" or "yeah I am doing that no carb thing for a few weeks" etc but more of a lifestyle choice as in when one goes Vegan. Its for better health and better bodies in the long run and staying away from the shit we've grown up on, processed foods, fast food and God knows what else.

I find myself craving fruits lately...how delightful.
